About the design
The cover design originated as a graphic interpretation of the author and his wife riding their horses in the Ozark Mountains of Southern Missouri. I collaged several photos together in Photoshop to recreate the scene. I then imported the composite into Illustrator where I used an image trace filter to soften the look and make it more artistic. The title text and the additional text elements were then placed in Adobe Illustrator to complete the design.
About the book
Mr. Meadows was born and raised in the Ozark Mountains of Missouri. He has ridden countless horseback miles on their rough trails and met a passel of colorful individuals. He has been a librarian, mail-order business owner, and clock repairman. In this book, you will find narratives related to all these subjects, written in his lively and witty style.
Mark D. Meadows continues to relate his memories of the Missouri hills. His previous book, Echoes from the Ozarks, contains many stories, most of them short and amusing. The current book has a number of longer narratives, as well as several short, funny tales. Some stories are more moving than mirthful, but all have their humorous touches. As an added bonus, the author includes a dozen family recipes with their tales. Buy it here
